After disrupting the Indian telecom sector with its ultra-affordable data and voice offerings, Reliance Jio is set to take the broadband market in the country by storm. Earlier this year, Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani announced JioGigaFiber, the company s ambitious FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) service. Even though registrations for JioGigaFiber have been going on for quite some time now, the company is yet to announce an official data (or time-frame) as to when the service will be launched. There s only a three-month preview offer that has been made available for select consumers so far. Now, some new information has surfaced regarding Reliance s upcoming FTTH service. According to recent reports, JioGigaFiber will be initially rolled out in 29 cities across the country. The cities that will get the service during the first phase include Chennai, Lucknow, Bengaluru, Kanpur, Pune, Coimbatore, Nagpur, Raipur, Indore, Bhopal, Ghaziabad, Ludhiana, Thane, Madurai, Agra, Nashik, Meerut, Guwahati, Faridabad, Srinagar, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Allahabad, Rajkot, Ranchi, Solapur, Jodhpur, Patna, and Kota.
However, there s no information as to when exactly the above-mentioned cities will get Reliance s high-speed broadband service.
It s worth mentioning that during JioGigaFiber s launch at Reliance Jio s 41st Annual General Meeting (AGM), it was announced that the service would cover 1,100 cities across the country, taking on both private players (e.g. Bharti Airtel, Tikona) and state-owned companies (e.g. BSNL, MTNL) in the fiercely-contested broadband space.

For now, the preview plan of JioGigaFiber gives users 300GB of free data. It comes with a validity of 90 days (three months) and there s a cap of 100GB per month as well.
