JioPhone still continues to be one of the most popular phone in the country. According to the latest CMR report, the feature phone accounted for about 27 percent of the Indian mobile market in the second quarter of 2018. Following that success, Jio also launched a successor for it called the JioPhone 2. However, the smartphone is only being offered in flash sales, which means many are still finding it difficult to get their hands on one. According to a report from MySmartPrice, Tata CLiQ has originally listed the feature phone for its original price of Rs 1,500, but is offering a further 15 percent discount on entering ICICIWEEKEND code at the checkout point. This accounts for a total discount of Rs 225, bringing down the price to Rs 1,275. There is one more catch though. The discount is only offered on the ICICI debit or credit cards. In contrast however, Jio s ongoing Monsoon Hungama offer still sounds great if you have a spare feature phone lying around at your home. By availing the exchange offer, user can simply purchase the JioPhone for a mere Rs 501, which is a great deal.
JioPhone features and specifications
To do a quick recap, the JioPhone comes with a 2.4-inch QVGA display with a reolution of 320 x 240 pixels. It is powered by Spreadtrum SP9820A dual-core SoC that boasts clock speeds of 1.2 GHz. The smartphone further features 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. However, the storage can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card.

For taking pictures, Jio has equipped the phone with a 2-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel VGA camera at the front. Connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC. On the software side, the feature phone runs KaiOS, which is easy to use, but also gives access to some popular apps such as WhatsApp, YouTube and Facebook. All of this is powered by a 2,000mAh battery placed underneath the hood.
