Back in July, Reliance Jio introduced the JioPhone 2 in India. The brand new ‘smart featurephone’ was announced at the company’s 41st Annual General Meeting (AGM), taking over the reins from last year’s JioPhone. The device, which went on sale on August 15, has been regularly made available for purchase via flash sales. If you couldn’t grab one before, this is your chance, as JioPhone 2 is set to go on sale (again) today. Here’s everything you need to know:
JioPhone 2: Flash sale details, price, and offers
Reliance’s JioPhone 2 will be available for purchase at 12PM today. You can head over to either jio.com or MyJio app to buy the phone. As is generally the case with flash sales, there will be limited units up for grabs, and these are likely to go out of stock in no time. Therefore, we advise getting online a little before 12PM (on a stable and fast network connection) to increase your chances.
JioPhone 2 is priced at Rs 2,999. However, if you pay through Paytm wallet, you’ll get a cashback of Rs 200 on that price.
JioPhone 2: Specifications and features
The two biggest features of JioPhone 2 that differentiate it from last year’s JioPhone are its QWERTY keyboard and a 2.4-inch landscape QVGA display of 240×320 pixels resolution. Apart from these, the phone shares most of the internal hardware with its predecessor.
JioPhone 2 comes with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage, with support for microSD cards of up to 128GB. The phone runs a custom build of KaiOS, with popular apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, and YouTube now available on the platform. Of course, the usual suite of Jio’s apps comes pre-loaded on to the phone as well.
