For those who aren t familiar, Sailfish is a mobile OS developed by Finnish company Jolla which is made up of ex-Nokia employees who worked in developing the MeeGo. Sailfish sports a completely Swipe based UI much like what is seen on BlackBerry 10 and prides itself on its multitasking abilities.
The demo during the event in November showed a homescreen which acted like a multitasking menu of sorts and a user can always come back to the homescreen by just swiping across the screen. The OS also gives you quite a few customization options through an automatic theme generator called Ambience that creates a custom look and feel. Furthermore notifications can also be accessed easily by swiping upwards.
Developers can follow step-by-step instructions and download the Sailfish SDK on their machines for free from the official website.
