Domestic smartphone maker Karbonn has added two new smartphone to its budget phone portfolio. Karbonn Aura Sleek 4G, and Aura Note 4G, as the name suggest come with 4G support, and are priced in the ultra-budget segment with a price tag of Rs 5,290 and Rs 6,890 respectively. While the Karbonn Aura Sleek 4G comes in a palette of champagne white, black and grey color options, the Aura Note 4G is available in Matt black and Metallic Champagne color, with a matte finish. Talking about the specifications, the Karbonn Aura Note 4G is the company s first ever smartphone to come with a fingerprint sensor. Besides that, the Aura Note 4G features a 5.5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a 1.25GHz quad core processor, which is paired with 2G of RAM, and 16GB of onboard storage, which is again expandable up to 32GB using a microSD card. For photography, the Aura Note 4G sports a 5-megapixel camera on the rear and a same 5-megapixel unit up front. Fuelling the device is a larger 2,800mAh battery, as compared to Karbonn Aura Sleek 4G s. The device is based on Android Marshmallow v6.0 operating system.

The Aura Sleek 4G, on the other hand, features a 5-inch FWVGA IPS display. Under the hood, it is powered by a 1.1GHz quad-core processor, which is accompanied by 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card.
For photography, the smartphone features a 5-megapixel rear camera, and up front sits a 2-megapixel unit for selfies. Running on Android Marshmallow v6.0 operating system, the device is fuelled by a 2,000mAh battery.
Considering the price tag, the Karbonn Aura Note 4G would compete against, Samsung Galaxy J1 4G and Lenovo Vibe K5, while the Aura Sleek 4G will compete against the newly launched Xiaomi Redmi 4A. Talking about the Samsung Galaxy J1 4G first, in comparison, the smartphone features 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display with 480 800 pixels resolution. Under the hood is a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of onboard storage, which is expandable up to 128GB using a microSD card. On the photography front, the smartphone sports a 5-megapixel primary camera with auto-focus and flash, and a 2-megapixel front-facing sensor. Fuelling the smartphone is a 2050mAh battery, and as for the pricing, at its launch earlier this year, the smartphone was retailed at Rs 6,890.
Moving to the Lenovo Vibe K5, the smartphone is also priced at Rs 6,999. The Vibe K5 is powered by Qualcomm s 64-bit Snapdragon 415 octa-core processor, features a 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front-facing shooter. It is fuelled by a 2,750mAh battery and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS out of the box. While, the battery of the Vibe K5 is almost the same as the Galaxy K1 4G, the former wins in terms of the processor and the camera. And lastly, comparing the the Karbonn Aura Sleek 4G to the newly launched Xiaomi Redmi 4A, the latter features a 5-inch IPS screen with 720p resolution. Under the hood, it is powered by a four-core Snapdragon 425 chipset with a 1.4GHz Cortex-A53 processor, which is accompanied by 2GB of RAM. For memory, the Redmi 4A offers 16GB built-in storage, which is expandable using a microSD card (via a hybrid SIM slot).
For photography, the Redmi 4A sports a 13-megapixel primary camera, accompanied by a single LED flash. Up front, it sports a 5-megapixel camera. There is no fingerprint scanner on the Redmi 4A, similar to the Aura Sleek 4G. It is fuelled by a 3,120mAh battery. The smartphone runs MIUI 8 based on Android Marshmallow. The smartphone has been launched in India for Rs 5,999.
