Kerala has experienced one of the worst floods ever caused because of the heavy rainfall. The damage has been of great deal, but in these desperate times, many tech giants like Google, Amazon, Facebook have stepped forward to offer help in any which way they can. While Xiaomi has contributed to the cause too, the company is going even further and now promises to repair phones with water damage, free of cost in Kerala.

A report by The Mobile Indian quotes Xiaomi Vice President and Managing Director Manu Jain said, “We will repair all the water damaged Xiaomi Smartphones in Kerala free of cost,” further adding, “A formal announcement will be made in a couple of days.”

This seems to be a great initiative by the company to provide help to those who have been affected by the major catastrophe. This is also not the only help Xiaomi has provided. A couple of days ago, the company also sent out thousands of fully charged Mi PowerBanks to several relief camps in Kerala, to help people charge their devices and stay connected with their loved ones.
