KFC is now launching a $10,000 internet escape pod

Because there is no fun in just switching that phone off!

KFC is really trying to establish itself as a fun brand with the finger-lickin -good aside products it works on. After launching two versions of its gaming box, a one-click button, and many other such cool products, the company now understands your need to hibernate, and rejuvenate from the entire hassle of keeping up with the social media. KFC is now working on an internet escape pod, wrapped in a creepily long-armed and long-legged Colonel Sanders figure, which costs just a little tiny weenzy amount of $10,000 or Rs 6.5 lakh approximately. “We ve come up with several technologically advanced, creative experiences for our customers and fans this year. But even we feel the burden of technology during the holiday season. So we decided to go in the opposite direction and create an anti-technology product, using technology, to help one lucky buyer literally escape the holiday chaos,” George Felix, director of advertising, KFC US, said. KFC says that the “safe space from the internet” is designed to protect users from, Cyber Monday deal reminders and push notifications about discounted widgets for unneeded items, from Calendar reminders about yet another holiday festivity committed to, but forgotten about, the relentless desire to check social media apps to see vacation posts and grams by wiser friends’, reminders from dating apps about one’s solo status, just like last Christmas, jolly Christmas music, which according to a psychologist reminds one of one’s holiday to-do list, and finally from nagging and unrelenting texts from mom. The dome-shaped pod holds “four adults, and a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken,” the company says. It’s made from steel and stainless-steel mesh, with the colonel’s figure created from “8-pound high-density architectural foam and enamel paint”. But just to be fair, KFC does warn that the pod may not be perfect as far as keeping the internet out. “Upon installation, every effort will be taken to ensure it fully blocks your device,” the statement reads. “You have the colonel’s word.” ALSO READ: Hands-on with KFC s Watt a Box that charges your phone while you eat

As proof that KFC is very likely not taking this too seriously, the internet escape pod is selling for $10,000 on KFC s e-commerce store that sells other merchandise such as fried-chicken-themed apparel, and home goods. “We were going to sell this for the ridiculously high price of $96,485.34, but in the spirit of the season, I said, Nah, let s make it a deal,'” Felix, said.
