The Kodak 50UHDX Smart 4K LED TV has been launched in India, by brand licensee Super Plastronics Pvt Ltd (SSPL). The TV goes on sale exclusively on Flipkart, priced at Rs 34,499. The 50-inch LED TV comes with a 3840×2160 pixels display, and features connected functionality as well. You can connect the TV to the internet through Wi-Fi or LAN, and comes pre-loaded with apps such as Gmail, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube as well. There is also support for Miracast, for screen casting from supported devices.

The smart TV runs on the dated Android 5.1.1 with a custom user interface designed for easy use with a TV remote, along with a dual-core 1.4GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage. For sound, the TV uses a dual-speaker system with two 10W speakers. The TV features three HDMI ports, two USB ports and 60Hz standard refresh rate for better motion. For purchases on Flipkart, buyers can also pick up the Kodak 50UHDX Smart 4K LED TV on no-cost EMI schemes of up to nine months, along with up to Rs 22,000 off on exchange of your old TV.

The official brand licensee for Kodak in India, SSPL brought its first Kodak TV to India in August 2016, and has since launched a range of Kodak-branded TVs in India in HD, Full HD and 4K resolutions. They also come in various sizes going from 32-inches to 50-inches. The TV launched today is the current flagship product offering under the Kodak brand name, and is the most premium TV offered by SSPL in India.

The Kodak 50UHDX Smart 4K LED TV comes shortly after Xiaomi announced its entry into the market with the Mi TV 4. Priced at a bit less than the Xiaomi Mi TV 4, the Kodak TV hopes to offer buyers an alternative option, considering the Mi TV 4 is currently a bit difficult to purchase due to stock shortages and the flash sale model. The Kodak TV will also go up against the recently launched Vu 4K Android TV range, which offers the official Android TV 7.0 operating system.
