Lava is continuing its tradition of launching a new device every Friday, and this week it has launched the Lava Iris 455. Looking at the list of specifications, the phone looks like a successor to the Iris 454 which was launched back in February. The Dual-SIM 3G-enabled Iris 455 sports a 4.5 inch qHD IPS (960×540 pixels) display and is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor and 512MB of RAM. The phone also includes features like a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, VGA front camera, 2GB on internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card, supports connectivity options like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and also includes a 1,500mAH battery. In terms of software unlike the Iris 454 which runs on Android Ice Cream Sandwich, the Iris 455 runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
Though Lava hasn t mentioned any price for the Iris 455, it is expected to be similar to the Iris 454 which is available for Rs 8,499 and should compete against the likes of Micromax A91 Ninja and Karbonn Smart A12 among others.
