After unveiling the Pixel V1 second-generation Android One smartphone, Lava has now launched the Iris Atom 2 in India. The smartphone is priced at Rs 4,949 and will be available across all national retail stores, multi-brand outlets and online platforms. As for specifications, the Iris Atom 2 flaunts a 4.5-inch FWVGA (480×854 pixels) display with a density of 218ppi. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor paired with a 512MB RAM. On the camera front, it sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with HDR and panorama features, while the selfie camera has a VGA sensor. It packs a 1,750mAh battery and runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat out of the box (upgradable to Android 5.1 Lollipop). Connectivity wise, it supports 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
At this price point, the Lava Iris Atom 2 will compete heavily with the likes of Micromax Canvas Spark, as well as LTE-capable smartphones like ZTE Blade Qlux and Phicomm Energy 653.
