As far as specifications are concerned, the Iris X8 flaunts a 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) IPS display with Asahi Dragontrail glass protection, and is powered by a 1.4 GHz MediaTek MT6592M octa-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM. The smartphone also features an 8-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash, 3-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 2,500mAh battery. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 3G support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and on the software front, it runs on Android 4.4 KitKat. As an introductory offer, Airtel subscribers buying the Iris X8 will get 500MB of free 2G/3G data for a period of two months.
At this price point, the Iris X8 will face some tough competition from the likes of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G, and the Yu Yureka, which offer better specifications and LTE capability as well.
