Lava has launched the Xolo X900 smartphone which also becomes the first Intel powered smartphone in the world for Rs 22,000. The device is based on the Intel Medfield reference design and features a 1.6GHz Atom processor, a GPU clocked at 400MHz, a 4.03-inch display with a resolution of 1024×600 pixels, a 8-megapixel camera with 1080p shooting capabilities, NFC and HDMI connectivity. Intel claims the camera can take 10 pictures in under a second in full resolution in burst mode setting. Lava says the device can produce five hours of battery life with 3G browsing and can deliver 45 hours of audio and eight hours of talk time. The device run stock Android 2.3 and will not ship with the latest version of Android Ice Cream Sandwich. For its part Lava says an OTA Ice Cream Sandwich update is in the works.
The device will be available in India on April 23 at Croma or from Xolo.in, and will hit retail chains in early May.
