The smartphone market is no stranger to the cheap knockoffs that look quite exactly like the original and cost less than half. In the past, we ve seen several iPhone clones in the market. Just recently, we reported about the Nokia 3310 copycats available in India. Latest to join the long list of lookalike smartphones is the Leagoo KIICAA S8, which appears to be highly inspired by the Samsung Galaxy S8. There are some subtle differences but you might have to squint to spot them. And as you might have guessed, the smartphone costs less than half of the Samsung Galaxy S8. Talking about the similarities, well, it’s almost everything. From the much-hyped bezel-less-like display to overall form factor, the Leagoo KIICAA S8 looks highly similar. If you’re interested in knowing the difference, you’ll be surprised to know that the KICAA S8 has dual-camera on the back — something that the Galaxy S8 doesn’t have. In fact, the controversial fingerprint sensor has been rightly moved below the camera setup on the back. If you remember, the placement of the scanner was very odd on the Galaxy S8 and was highly criticized. Also Read - Samsung Galaxy M32 leaked specs make it look slightly better than Galaxy M42 5G

In terms of specifications, the smartphone is expectedly very different from the Samsung Galaxy S8. Though it does sport a curved display, chances are, the phone won’t have Samsung’s Infinity Screen but instead, a display with the 18:9 ratio dimensions. The smartphone, teased on Twitter by Leagoo, also mentions that it is the first to feature the MediaTek MT6763 chipset. The phone will be available in 64GB and 128GB storage variants with 4GB and 6GB RAM respectively. The camera resolution is unknown. KIICAA is the new brand from Leagoo and the Samsung Galaxy S8 clone is expected to be one of the first phones under the new sub-brand. Also, with KIICAA, Leagoo is moving away from the traditional budget phones to more pricey devices, reports suggest.
The Twitter post also mentions two other upcoming devices, Leagoo KIICAA S8 Lite and Leagoo KIICAA S8 Premium. The features and specifications of the other two models are not known and there are not hints given by Leagoo at this point in time. The other two are likely to come with similar specifications and be a more premium or toned down version, as the names suggest. The phone is expected to be priced under $300 (roughly Rs 20,000).
