“You can buy it in any color as long as it is black.” This Henry Ford statement quoted often by the late Steve Jobs probably killed colors from the smartphone industry. Apple relented by giving users the option to buy the iPhone 4 in white in addition to black and the tone was followed almost every Android flagship smartphone from rivals. That’s probably also the reason why you can only buy the Nexus 5 in those two colors only. But if a leaked video is legit, that could change very soon. According to a leaked video and set of pictures published by PhoneArena, it looks likes some new colors options are being added to the Nexus 5 on Google’s Play Store. The new colors include red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. That means, if and when, Google finally decides to launch the new colors, you would have eight color choices for the Nexus 5.
That won’t just make the phone look, er, more colorful, it also means that Lumias and the iPhone 5C won’t be the only choices, should you plan to buy a phone that looks good (if slightly boring) and performs very well too. You can read more about the Nexus 5 in our review here.
