After taking a dig at Apple for ‘bigger’ batteries on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, and its ‘AirPods’ wireless headphones, LeEco has today launched its latest smartphone, the Le Pro 3, in China. It is the second smartphone after the Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe to come with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 821 quad-core chipset. With the launch of Le 2-series smartphones, LeEco had removed the 3.5mm audio port and introduced its CDLA technology for digital audio output via USB Type-C port. The same continues with the Le Pro 3 as well. LeEco has also added stereo speakers at the bottom of the smartphone. The smartphone is available in two variants, 4GB of RAM with 64GB storage and 6GB of RAM with 64GB storage. The 6GB variant is priced at RMB 1,999 (approximately Rs 20,100). The Le Pro 3 features a unibody metal design, similar to the Le 2. LeEco says that it is the company’s slimmest smartphone, measuring thickness of just 7.5mm. The front panel has earpiece, selfie camera and proximity sensor above the display, whereas the capacitive buttons for app switcher, home and back are placed below the screen. The volume buttons and power / sleep button are placed on the right edge, whereas the USB Type-C port for charging, data transfer and audio output is placed at the bottom. Turn to the back, and you have metal body with brushed aluminum finish. The antenna bands are visible across the top and lower section. The back panel also houses the camera module with LED flash, and fingerprint scanner placed below it. Also Read - LeEco plans smartphone with 18:9 aspect ratio: Report
