The hacker group by the name ‘Legion’ is hogging all the limelight after claiming to hack Twitter accounts of eminent personalities, and a political party as well. The hacker group is however far from done, and late last night it hacked into the accounts of journalists Barkha Dutt and Ravish Kumar. The hackers however defended their actions with a tweet that read, “We use twitter as a means to reach the public. We don t just hack twitter accounts. Go through the data and find out. As is the norm, Legion filled the Twitter accounts of both journalists with derogatory tweets, which at the time of filing the story, have been taken down. The hackers also posted the email address and password of Barkha Dutt, Indian Express reports. NDTV responded to the hack with a statement — “Email, Twitter accounts of senior NDTV journalists have been hacked. Attempts are being made to use emails out of context. Legion is showing no signs of slowing down, and has already declared its next target, former IPL chairman Lalit K Modi. The hackers also encouraging citizens to contribute to their cause with a tweet, “Remember kids, e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have useful information or sp00lz.
Legion came into prominence recently when it hacked into the Twitter accounts of Rahul Gandhi and the Congress Party. They filled both the accounts with derogatory tweets, which have since been taken down. On Friday, Legion also hacked into the Twitter account, and email accounts of businessman Vijay Mallya.
