Last month, Lenovo sent out media invites for an event in India on April 7, where it is expected to launch the A7000. With less than a week to the launch, BGR India has come across a set of benchmarks that show the kind of performance we can expect from the forthcoming smartphone. The Lenovo A7000 was put through AnTuTu benchmarks and it scored impressively around the 42,000 mark. Keeping company at this level are the likes of the HTC One (M8), Huawei Mate 7, Xiaomi Mi 4 and the Samsung Galaxy S5 among others. In comparison, some of its immediate rivals like the Yu Yureka and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G lag quite a bit behind with scores of 28,328 and 18,727 respectively.
After unveiling the A6000 at CES earlier this year, Lenovo took the wraps off the A7000 at MWC last month. Similar to the launch of the A6000, India will again be one of the first countries to get the A7000, and it too is expected to go on sale via Flipkart.
To recap, Lenovo hails the A7000 as a smartphone built for entertainment on a budget. It flaunts a 5.5-inch HD (1280 720 pixels) IPS display, and is powered by a 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6752m octa-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM.
The handset also features 8GB internal storage, microSD card support, an 8-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel selfie camera, and a 2,900mAh battery. Connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, LTE support, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, and on the software front, it runs on Android Lollipop out-of-the-box.
