While it s good to see that Lenovo will be gracing its budget smartphones with Android Marshmallow, by the time September arrives, Google will be all set to launch the Android N update. The exact reason for this lengthy timeline isn t known yet, but the budget nature could be something to blame. As of now, these are the only five devices listed to get the Android 6.0 update. The Vibe Z2 Pro, which was released last year, is more likely to remain on Android 5.0 Lollipop.

If we look at the competition, LG has already started rolling out the Marshmallow update for the G4. Google s Nexus series and Android One series smartphones have also started getting the update, whereas Honor smartphones will be getting the update in February 2016.

HTC also announced its update plans where top smartphones will get the update by the end of this year. While Sony and Motorola have also announced their upgrade plans, they haven t mentioned specifically when it will be rolled out.
