Lenovo has launched a new smartphone in China today. Called the Lenovo K320t, the smartphone is a new add-on to the K-series of the company. This also happens to be Lenovo’s first smartphone to sport an 18:9 aspect ratio display. The smartphone is priced at RMB 999 (Rs 9,800 approximately). Available in a black color variant, the smartphone has been listed on Jd.com. It will go on sale in China on January 4. However, there no word as to when the smartphone will launch in other markets. The Lenovo K320t features a 5.7-inch HD+ (720×1440 pixels) display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, and 2.5D curved glass protection on top. Under the hood is a 1.3GHz quad-core Spreadtrum SoC coupled with 2GB of RAM. Also on offer is 16GB onboard storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card.
For photography, there is a primary 8-megapixel auto-focus sensor, and a 2-megapixel fixed-focus camera. Up front, there is an 8-megapixel camera with a f/2.2 aperture lens. The smartphone packs a 3,000mAh non-removable battery. On the connectivity front, the Lenovo K320t has 4G support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS, Micro-USB, FM radio, and 3.5mm audio jack. Sensors on board include ambient light, gravity, and proximity sensor. Unfortunately, the smartphone runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box.
If launched in India, the Lenovo K320t will face tough competition from the likes of Xiaomi Mi A1 and Honor 7X among others. The Xiaomi Mi A1 sports a 5.5-inch Full HD LCD display. It features dual 12-megapixel rear cameras with f/2.2 aperture and supports 4K video recording at 30 frames per second. Xiaomi has also included a 5-megapixel selfie shooter with 1080p video recording support.
The Honor 7X, on the other hand, features a 5.93-inch full HD+ resolution display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. Under the hood is a Kirin 659 octa-core SoC paired with 4GB of RAM. The Honor 7X comes with the dual-camera setup at the back with a combination of 16-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors. Up front, there is an 8-megapixel snapper for selfies.
