After aggressively teasing the K4 Note in bits and pieces, Lenovo is finally set to launch the smartphone in India today. The K4 Note succeeds the K3 Note, which had set new benchmarks in sub-Rs 10,000 phablets in India by offering a 1080p Full HD display, octa-core processor and 2GB of RAM in that price segment. From the teasers we ve seen so far, the K4 Note is expected to boast a metal body, a fingerprint scanner and an NFC chip among others. The Lenovo K4 Note will also come with front facing dual speakers, just like HTC BoomSound speakers. Lenovo also teased that the smartphone will come with a killer display, but we re not sure what exactly new would be on offer.
Lenovo K4 Note specifications and features: From what we have come across so far, the K4 Note will come with 3GB of RAM compared to 2GB of RAM on the K3 Note. Furthermore, the smartphone will also feature 32GB of internal storage, which is double of what the K3 Note offers. A microSD card slot for further expansion is also expected.
Other details about the camera, battery capacity and display size are scarce at the moment. But usual set of connectivity features such as dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS are expected.
Other new additions on the K4 Note would be a fingerprint scanner and NFC support, which was missing in the K3 Note. The presence of fingerprint scanner could also be a hint at Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but Lenovo hasn’t teased that in its pre-launch campaign.
What remains to be seen is how aggressively Lenovo is able to price the K4 Note and whether it can be priced below Rs 10,000. Interestingly, the top two selling smartphones on Flipkart last year were both from Lenovo.
We will be at the event to bring you more information about the pricing, availability and other details about the Lenovo K4 Note as and when the company launches it later today.
