Lenovo is hosting an event later today, where it will be launching the new K6 Power smartphone. The event will kick off at 3PM IST. Lenovo will be live streaming the launch event which you can watch via the company s official Facebook page and YouTube channel. The Lenovo K6 Power was first unveiled at the IFA 2016 in Berlin earlier this year. Now, after being launched today in India, the smartphone will go up on sale exclusively on Flipkart from December 6. Leading up to the event, uptill now Lenovo has teased some images of the smartphone, which show a gold colored device with metal body, camera module and a circular fingerprint sensor placed at the back. At the bottom we saw the Lenovo logo, and the speaker grille. We can t help but find similarities between the K6 Power and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, when it comes to the overall design. Lenovo s smartphone will be available in three colors dark grey, gold and silver.
Lenovo K6 Power specifications
As for the specifications, the Lenovo K6 Power will feature a 5-inch full HD (1080p) display with pixel density of 441ppi. The smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm s Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor (four Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.2GHz + four Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.5GHz) paired with Adreno 505 GPU. It will be equipped with 3GB of RAM, 32GB onboard storage, and a microSD card slot for memory expansion.
On the photography front, the K6 Power will feature a 13-megapixel rear camera with phase detection auto-focus (PDAF) and LED flash. On the front, there will be an 8-megapixel camera, with video recording capability at 1080p. The smartphone will be fuelled by a 4,000mAh battery, and features a fingerprint scanner at the back, along with Dolby ATMOS audio support. The smartphone s connectivity options include dual-SIM support, 4G with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS. There is no word on the pricing of the Lenovo K6 Power, but going by the specifications and features, it could be launched in the sub-Rs 10,000 price segment. In this segment, the smartphone will compete against the popular Xiaomi Redmi 3s Prime smartphone among others. The Redmi 3s Prime, priced at Rs 8,999, features a 5-inch HD display, Qualcomm s Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor, Adreno 505 GPU and 3GB of RAM.
The smartphone also comes with 32GB onboard storage, microSD card slot, 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 5-megapixel front camera, 4,000mAh battery, and a fingerprint sensor. Connectivity options include dual-SIM, 4G, VoLTE voice calling support, Bluetooth 4.1, microUSB 2.0, Wi-Fi 2.4GHz, Wi-Fi Display and Wi-Fi Direct (802.11n).
