After having launched the K8 Note smartphone last month, Lenovo has now unveiled the K8 and K8 Plus smartphones in India. Priced at Rs 10,999, the Lenovo K8 Note will be available exclusively via Flipkart on September 7. As for the K8, the smartphone will be available in the coming weeks. Lenovo will also be launching a festive variant of the K8 Plus in October which will come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage.
The highlight of the K8 Plus is undoubtedly its dual-camera setup. The dual-camera module on the K8 Plus consists of a 13-megapixel Purecel Plus sensor and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. Both the sensors work together to create bokeh effect. The dual cameras are of f/2.0 5-element lens, and come with features like refocus, and Dual ISP. Up front, the K8 Plus houses an 8-megapixel camera with 84-degree Wide Angle lens, Party Flash, Pro Mode and Beautify for selfies.
The Lenovo K8 Plus has an all metal body in two colors variants – gold and venom black. Below the vertically aligned dual cameras, the fingerprint sensor is placed. The smartphone has two antenna lines running at the top and bottom of the rear panel. A new addition is a dedicated music key on the left side which can also be customized to launch other apps like camera.

As for the rest of the specifications, the Lenovo K8 Plus flaunts a 5.2-inch Full HD (1080p) IPS display Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The smartphone also has Oleophobic Coating for fingerprint smudges resistance. At the core of the smartphone is the 64-Bit MediaTek Helio P25 True octa-core processor clocked at 2.6GHz.
In terms of memory, the K8 Plus packs 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage which is further expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card. Connectivity options on the K8 Plus includes dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and USB OTG. Keeping the smartphone ticking is a 4,000mAh battery. Lenovo says that the battery offers up to two days of juice with 13 hours of net surfing, 20 hours of video playback, 100 hours of music playback.
On the software front, the K8 Plus runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the box. Just like the K8 Note, the K8 Plus also runs stock Android, making it the second Lenovo smartphone to do so. Android Oreo upgrade has been assured for the K8 Note soon. More features on the K8 Plus include Dolby ATMOS and TheaterMax.

On the other hand, the Lenovo K8 features a 5.2-inch HD IPS display in an all metal body. Under the hood of the smartphone, runs MediaTek’s Helio P20 SoC clocked at 2.3GHz. The smartphone runs on Stock Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. For photography, the K8 sports a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera with party flash. The smartphone is fuelled by a 4,000mAh battery. Comes with Dolby Atmos surround sound. The Lenovo K8 will go on sale via retail stores in a couple of weeks.
