Lenovo is been teasing the launch of its next smartphone for quite some time on social media. Now, the company has revealed that this upcoming smartphone will be called the K8 Note, and it will be launching in India on August 9. While details are scarce, the smartphone was recently spotted on Geekbench, and the list reveals a few of its specifications and features.
Lenovo’s teaser on Twitter features a mathematical equation, which upon solving results in the ‘8’. This is in line with a few reports suggesting that the device could be called the K8 Note. As per the benchmark listing, the upcoming smartphone is likely to be powered by a 1.39GHz deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 chipset paired with 3GB of RAM. Apart from that, the smartphone will run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. In the benchmark test, the smartphone scored 1,659 and 4,844 for single and multi cores respectively. At the time of filing this story, however, other details about the smartphone are unknown.

The Lenovo K8 Note seems like the successor to the K6 Note, which was launched in India last December with a price tag of Rs 13,999. The K6 Note came with a 5.5-inch full HD display, Snapdragon 430 octa-core chipset, 32GB storage with 3GB of RAM, and 64GB storage with 4GB of RAM. The smartphone also came with a 4,000mAh battery, 16-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel selfie camera, and it ran on Android Marshmallow 6.0 out-of-the-box.
