Right on cue, Lenovo launched the K8 Plus smartphone in India earlier today. The smartphone is priced at Rs 10,999 for the 32GB storage variant with 3GB RAM and will be available to purchase via Flipkart starting tomorrow. The first sale for the Lenovo K8 Plus will be conducted at 12PM and will be up for grabs in two color variants – fine gold and venom black. Lenovo and Flipkart are offering various introductory offers to customers who plan to buy the K8 Plus tomorrow. To begin with, customers can get extra 15 percent off on Flipkart fashion. Flipkart has extended its buyback guarantee offer to the K8 Plus where customers can avail a buyback guarantee of up to Rs 5,000 on the purchase of the smartphone. The offer allows you to exchange your phone at a specified price when you purchase a new smartphone via Flipkart. Apart from that, you can also exchange your old smartphone and get up to Rs 10,000 off on the new K8 Plus.
Additionally, if you are a Reliance Jio user you will get extra 30GB of 4G data, Prime membership worth Rs 99 and unlimited calling for Rs 399. Flipkart is also offering Bass Bluetooth speaker at Rs 1,199 down from 1,899, and it has also slashed the price of Moto Pulse 2 headphones from Rs 1,599 to Rs 599.
Keeping up with the dual-camera trend, the Lenovo K8 Plus also comes with a dual-camera setup at the back. The cameras come with one 13-megapixel Purecel Plus sensor while the other is a 5-megapixel depth sensor. The dual camera helps create a bokeh effect. In terms of design, the smartphone comes with a full metal body. At the back, the dual-cameras are placed vertically with the fingerprint sensor right below it. The smartphone has two antenna lines running parallel to each other at the top and bottom. The volume rocker is placed on the right-hand side while the power and music button reside on the left-hand side. Apart from that, the smartphone comes with Dolby ATMOS and TheaterMax, something we have seen in all recent K-series smartphones.
At the event, Lenovo also announced that they will be launching the 64GB variant with 4GB of RAM in October during the Diwali festival. While the company did not reveal the price, going by the industry standards, we can expect the smartphone to be priced at Rs 12,999.
Lenovo K8 Plus specifications
The Lenovo K8 Plus flaunts a 5.2-inch Full HD (1080p) IPS display. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by 64-bit MediaTek Helio P25 True octa-core SoC clocked at 2.6GHz. Keeping the smartphone ticking is a 4,000mAh battery. On the connectivity front, the smartphone includes dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and USB OTG. On the software front, the K8 Plus runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the box. Lenovo also said that we can expect the latest Android Oero update to hit the K8 Plus smartphone soon. At the event, Lenovo also launched the K8 smartphone. However, the company failed to reveal the price of the smartphone and said that the device will launch in a couple of weeks.
