As Motorola’s parent company, Lenovo has been busy expanding the Moto line-up in the past few weeks, having recently unveiled the Moto G6 Plus, and Motorola One Power. However, it’s been a while since we saw a proper Lenovo-branded smartphone in India. But now it seems that’s about to change soon.
Lenovo has started sending out invites for an event scheduled for October 16, where the company will likely launch a new smartphone. Bearing the tagline ‘The Killer Returns’, the invite alludes that we may see a new K-series smartphone at the event.
It’s worth mentioning that Lenovo’s last smartphones launched in India were the K8 Note, K8, and K8 Plus, which were unveiled a little over a year ago. At the time, the highlights of Lenovo’s K-series smartphones were stock Android and big battery, so the upcoming smartphone may have these features as well.
As for the invite, it doesn’t reveal much, except for showing a partial silhouette of a smartphone with a shiny metallic frame and rounded corners.

Lenovo has been rumored to be preparing to launch its Z5 Pro flagship smartphone for quite a while now. The all-screen Lenovo Z5 Pro is expected to come with a slider mechanism similar to what Oppo’s Find X has. In fact, a short video demonstrating the smartphone’s sliding mechanism surfaced online last month. A recent report by GSMArena had claimed that the Z5 Pro would launch on October 1, but that clearly didn’t happen.
