We already have a fair idea on what to expect from the Lenovo P2, including the fact that it will be exclusively available via Flipkart. The only thing unknown is the price tag, which should be revealed at the event. In China, the P2 is available in 64GB variant priced at RMB 2,499 (approximately Rs 24,500). The Lenovo P2 s USP is the 5,100mAh battery underneath. Lenovo claims that the battery is good enough to offer up to 78 hours of talktime on a single charge. It also supports fast charging, wherein 15 minutes of charging is enough to offer up to 10 hours of battery life. There is also support for reverse charging, whereby the P2 doubles up as a powerbank, and can be used to charge other devices using an USB OTG cable.
Lenovo P2 specifications
The Lenovo P2 features a 5.5-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, Qualcomm s Snapdragon 625 octa-core SoC, 3GB and 4GB RAM options, and a microSD card slot. For photography, there s a 13-megapixel rear snapper with single LED flash, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies.
Besides the mammoth battery, the smartphone also features a fingerprint sensor embedded into the physical home button up front. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card support (hybrid setup), 4G with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS. At the expected price range, the Lenovo P2 should face competition from the likes of the Asus Zenfone 3 Max (ZC553KL), which also boasts a massive battery.
