Lenovo is set to launch its next high-end premium smartphone – Lenovo S5 Pro – on October 18. All this while leaked reports had confused anticipated Z5 Pro to S5 Pro. But now there is clarity from another set of teasers, and based on it (via GSMArena), Lenovo Z5 Pro and Lenovo S5 Pro will be two different smartphones.
The flagship Lenovo Z5 Pro will be the one with quad camera setup, while the Lenovo S5 Pro will only have a dual camera on its back. The Z5 Pro will launch after the Lenovo S5 Pro, which will be unveiled on October 18.
In the new set of teasers, Lenovo can be seen taking on Xiaomi’s Mi 8 Lite for not having a telephoto camera, so it is now evident that S5 Pro will have one telephoto lens in its dual rear camera setup. The company has also suggested low-light photography for the S5 Pro by teasing Honor 8X’s lack of capability.
Lenovo also criticized Xiaomi‘s Mi 8 SE for not having a brighter f/1.8 lens, as it features f/1.9. The S5 Pro is teased to sport a dual selfie camera with a superior selfie mode and Artificial Intelligence (AI) than Xiaomi’s Mi 8 line up. The handset is confirmed to sport a notch display in teasers.
Overall, the LenovoS5 Pro is anticipated to be a huge upgrade over already available Lenovo S5. To remind you, the Lenovo S5 was launched earlier this year, and comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, up to 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The device sports a dual-camera setup at the rear, along with a 16-megapixel front camera, and runs Android 8.0. The device also sports a 5.7-inch full-HD+ 18:9 aspect ratio screen, with no display notch.
