Lenovo unveiled the A7000 at MWC earlier this month, and BGR India had exclusively reported that India would be the first in line to get the smartphone. Today, the company has sent out media invites for a launch event on April 7, where it is likely to launch the A7000.
The invite has a photo of a Dolby Atmos theater with the words “Save the Date, 7 April 2015.” This is accompanied by the Lenovo and Dolby Atmos logos. This all but confirms the launch plans for the A7000, since it is one of the first smartphones to boast Dolby Atmos sound technology.
At CES earlier this year, Lenovo unveiled the entry-level LTE-capable A6000 and India was similarly one of the first countries to get the smartphone. The smartphone is on sale exclusively via Flipkart.
To recap, Lenovo hails the A7000 as a smartphone “built for entertainment on a budget.” As for specifications, the A7000 sports a 5.5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) IPS display, and is powered by a 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6752m octa-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM.
The handset also features 8GB internal storage, microSD card support, an 8-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel selfie camera, and a 2,900mAh battery. Connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, LTE support, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, and on the software front, it runs on Android Lollipop out-of-the-box.
