Lenovo introduced new Tab 4 Series tablets at the ongoing Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. The new tablets are available in 8-inch and 10-inch display sizes, run Android 7.0 Nougat, and are available in Wi-Fi+LTE and Wi-Fi only models. The 8-inch Tab 4 model is priced at $109 for the standard version while the Plus variant is priced at $199. The 10-inch version is available at $149 for the standard model while the Plus variant is priced at $249. The Tab 4 Series will officially hit the shelves sometime in May. Both the 8-inch and 10-inch standard versions offer 1,200 x 800-pixel resolution and come powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset with 2GB of RAM. Storage options include 16GB and 32GB. The Plus variants, on the other hand, sport an IPS display with 1,920 x 1,200 pixels resolution and come with dual-glass protection. These come powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset with 3GB/4GB of RAM and storage choice of 16GB and 64GB. For photography or video calling, the Plus variants feature an 8-megapixel rear camera along with a 5-megapixel front shooter. Connectivity options include USB Type-C port along with a fingerprint sensor.
Common features include stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and Android Nougat at the core. Both the standard and Plus variants are available in Wi-Fi + LTE and Wi-Fi only models. Lenovo is offering additional kits with the Tab 4 which are basically add-ons based on user requirement. Currently, there are two kits, sold separately, which make the tablets suitable for either kids or for office work. The Kid s Pack includes more internet security with dedicated children s account for safer web browsing along with a shock-resistant bumper, 3M stickers for scratch protection, and a blue-light filter. The Productivity Pack, on the other hand, allows one to transform the tablet into a 2-in-1 laptop with a Bluetooth-enabled keyboard and trackpad. Currently, details on the pricing and availability of these packs are scarce.
