Lenovo is hosting its second Tech World event today where the company is expected to finally pull the curtains off the much-rumored Moto Z smartphones. The event is set to take place in San Francisco at 10:30PM IST, and here’s how you can catch all the live action from the event. A lot of interesting announcements are expected from the launch event. To begin with, the existing Motorola Moto X line with be replaced with Moto Z-series. The company is likely to unveil two new smartphones the flagship Moto Z Style smartphone and the slightly less powerful and affordable Moto Z Play. The Moto Z Style is likely to feature a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED display, Qualcomm s Snapdragon 820 chipset, 4GB of RAM, and 32GB or 64GB storage options. The Moto Z Play, on the other hand, could feature a 5.5-inch 1080p display, Qualcomm s Snapdragon 620 chipset. With connectivity options such as 4G LTE support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, both smartphones are expected to run on Android Marshmallow OS out-of-the-box.
Both smartphones are also expected to boast some sort of modular functionality. From the leaked photos that we ve seen before, there is a 16-pin connector at the back to interact with the module. We have also come across a bunch of modules called Moto Mods whichincludes external battery pack, snap on color covers, stereo speakers, camera module with 10x zoom lens and Xenon flash, pico projector and much more.
Lenovo is also expected to launch the PHAB2 Pro, the first Project Tango device, at the event. Earlier this year, Lenovo and Google had announced a partnership to launch the first consumer ready Project Tango device, which. A part of Google experiment, the Project Tango device aims to bring Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) to consumers at affordable costs. With a set of sensors and cameras at the back, the device can create 3D maps of the user s surroundings in real-time. From the previous leak, the Lenovo PHAB2 Pro with 6.4-inch QHD display is likely to be announced at the event and could be priced around $500 (which is approximately Rs 33,500).
Lastly, Moto E (2016) smartphone may also get official at the event. The alleged smartphone recently received Bluetooth SIG certification. The listing confirmed Bluetooth 4.1 and Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. Recent leak also hinted at the specifications and features of the smartphone, according to which it could be a major upgrade over the predecessor.
