As is the case with Lenovo’s smartphones in India, the K5 Note is highly likely to be launched as the Vibe K5 Note in India. As the name suggests, it will be the successor to last year’s Lenovo Vibe K4 Note, and it remains to be seen if the upcoming smartphone too will be bundled with the ANTVR headset. This year, Lenovo has already launched the Vibe K5 for Rs 6,999 and the Vibe K5 Plus for Rs 8,499 in India.
Lenovo Vibe K5 Note specifications
The smartphone flaunts a 5.5-inch full HD (1920 1080 pixels) IPS display, and is powered by a 1.8GHz MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core 64-bit processor paired with Mali-T860 GPU and 2GB of RAM. Also on offer is 16GB internal storage, which can be further expanded using a microSD card.
In comparison, the Vibe K4 Note featured a 5.5-inch 1080p display, MediaTek MT6753 64-bit octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, and 16GB internal storage, along with microSD card slot.
Lenovo Vibe K5 Note features
On the photography front, the Vibe K5 Note features a 13-megapixel rear camera, supplemented with an 8-megapixel selfie camera up front. It also features a 1.5W speaker at the back with Dolby ATMOS surround sound support, and a fingerprint scanner placed below the rear camera.
The smartphone is backed by a 3,500mAh battery with fast charging support, and also unlike its predecessor, boasts a metal body. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and VoLTE. On the software front, the smartphone launched in China ran on Android Lollipop, but we expect the device launched in India to run on Android Marshmallow wrapped under Vibe UI.
Lenovo Vibe K5 Note price
The K5 Note was launched in China with a price tag of 1,099 Yuan, which is approximately Rs 11,300. Looking at the set of specifications and features, we expect the Vibe K5 Note to be priced around Rs 12,000 as well. This will put the smartphone up against the likes of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and the LeEco Le 2 among others, and Lenovo will hope to replicate the success of the Vibe K3 Note, something that last year’s smartphone failed to do.
