Lenovo had launched a new flagship smartphone in India on September 22 in India. Called the Z2 Plus, the smartphone is a rebranded version of the ZUK Z2, which was launched in China earlier this year. Lenovo has dropped the ZUK moniker in India. The smartphone is available in two variants, one with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage and the other with 4GB and 64GB storage priced at Rs 17,999 and Rs 19,999 respectively. The Lenovo Z2 Plus boasts of a fiberglass material body which the company claims is stronger and lighter than metal , and is also equipped with internal heat conduction technology to prevent the smartphone from overheating. The Lenovo Z2 Plus is Amazon exclusive and the smartphone will go on its first sale tonight at 11:59 PM and will go on till September 27. The sale comes with a bunch load of launch offers for its customers. For starters, Rs 15,000 Yatra eCash is up for grabs on purchase of the Z2 Plus. There s an offer for Kindle users as well. On downloading and signing into the Kindle app, users can get a discount of up to 80 percent on Kindle eBooks, which goes up to a maximum amount of Rs 500. For those who purchase the Lenovo Z2 Plus on the Amazon app stand a chance to get 100 percent cashback. Lenovo is also selling accessories along with the smartphone, which include the Chrono case priced at Rs 1,299 for Rs 999. The other accessories include Skullcandy Ando headphones for Rs 1,299 and Stealth case (back over) for Rs 699.
The home button on the Z2 Plus comes with a U-Touch control technology to navigate through the interface single touch for back, single press for home, press and hold for Google Now, double press for app switcher, swipe from left to right or vice-versa to switch between apps. The smartphone also comes with a health app called U-health which stores your health records. It can track steps, distance covered, calories burned and also alert users about the same. The activity tracker is always-on, runs in background and does not drain the battery, Lenovo says.
Lenovo Z2 Plus specifications
The Lenovo Z2 Plus features a 5-inch full HD (1080p) display with pixel density of 441ppi, viewing angle of 178-degrees and 2.5D curved glass. Under the hood runs a Qualcomm s Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor (four custom kryo cores). The smartphone comes in two variants of 3GB RAM + 32GB onboard storage and 4GB of RAM + 64GB storage. The storage unfortunately is not expandable.
On the photography front, the smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera of aperture f/2.2, PDAF, electronic image stabilization (EIS) and LED flash. It also supports 4K video recording at 30fps, slow motion HD (720p) recording at 120fps and time-lapse video recording. Lenovo Z2 Plus is powered by a 3,500mAh battery along with Quick Charge 3.0 support and a feature called intelligent charge cut-off (ICC) to prevent it from overcharging. Its connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 4G VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth and USB Type-C port. The Z2 Plus runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
