The relentless pursuit of doing away with bezels has led to manufacturers launching smartphones with some innovative form factors, with Oppo Find X arguably being the most interesting of the lot. According to a report by GSMArena, Lenovo will launch its all-screen Z5 Pro smartphone on October 1. The information surfaced on Chinese social networking website Weibo, with the company also confirming it on its official Weibo channel. Interestingly, Lenovo s VP Liu Jun had recently showcased the upcoming Z5 Pro during a press conference in Beijing, China.
It s worth mentioning that a video allegedly showing Lenovo Z5 Pro s slider mechanism in action surfaced online, earlier this month. The 12-second long video also shows the soon-to-be-launched sporting an under-display fingerprint sensor. Previous reports have said that the Z5 Pro could come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 or 710 chipset. However, no other information is available about the smartphone as of now.
Lenovo isn t the only Android OEM planning an all-screen smartphone. Earlier this month, Xiaomi president posted a render of the company s upcoming Mi Mix 3, confirming that it ll have a sliding mechanism like Oppo s Find X. A video showing the yet-to-be-launched Mi Mix 3 had also surfaced online, showcasing its manual slider. The smartphone was rumored to launch on September 15, but that didn t happen.
