The company sent us an invite for its January 8 event earlier today, which reiterated its plans of launching the smartphone in India soon. Present at the CES event along with Lenovo s VP, Mobile Business Group, Colin Giles and Flipkart s Vice President – Retail & Head – Strategic Brand Alliances, Michael Adnani. The latter s presence is an indication that the smartphone will be exclusively available on the ecommerce site. Earlier this week, we exclusively reported about Lenovo s plans of launching an affordable smartphone in India with LTE capabilities. The smartphone is set to be powered by a Snapdragon 410 processor, and is expected to be priced close to the Xiaomi Redmi 1S.
The smartphone is question could similar to the Lenovo K3, which was announced in China last month, albeit with a different name. As for specifications, the K3 sports a 5-inch 720p display, and is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM. The smartphone also features 16GB internal storage, microSD card slot, 8-megapixel rear camera, and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
