While Marty’s floating skateboard may still be a thing of sci-fi, carmaker Lexus seems to have taken a step towards realizing that dream. As a part of its ‘Amazing in Motion Projects’, the carmaker has developed the Lexus Hoverboard. As per the website, the board achieves levitation via magnets cooled by liquid nitrogen. While details are scarce at the moment, Engadget reports that the hoverboard is real and the demo was shot in a skate park. The park though had a metal surface underneath, which means that in its current avatar you can’t just take hoverboard anywhere. While it may be still some years away, it is quite exciting nonetheless to see one’s childhood dreams so close to reality.
