LG India has revealed via a tweet over the weekend that it will launch its flagship G3 smartphone in India on July 21. The tweet that leaves nothing to imagination simply mentions that the LG G3 is coming soon with the date July 21 underneath it. This will be the first Android smartphone from a tier one brand to sport a 2K QHD display. Earlier Oppo launched the Find 7 with a 2K display. Last week online retailer Infibeam had put up its LG G3 pre-order page where it mentioned the price at Rs 46,990. If the pricing is true, it would be very aggressive pricing from LG, especially considering the specifications.
The LG G3 was launched back in May. To recap on the specifications, the G3 is the first smartphone from a tier one company to flaunt a QHD (2560 1440 pixels) display. It features a 5.5-inch display, 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor, Adreno 330 GPU, and 2GB/3GB of RAM. As mentioned above the there are two variants differentiated by the internal storage 16GB and 32GB.
The flagship device also features a 13-megapixel rear camera with OIS+ and laser auto focus, 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera, connectivity options like LTE support, 3G support, NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS/AGPS. On the software front, it runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat wrapped under LG s overhauled UI.
