LG G4 dual-SIM variant launched in India, priced at Rs 51,000: Specifications, features


Back in April, LG took the wraps off its latest flagship the LG G4. As expected, today the company has launched the smartphone in India. It is priced at Rs 51,000, which is in line with earlier reports. Also Read - LG Electronics forays into EV charging business

As we have reported before, the flagship boasts a slightly curved body with dimensions of 149.1 75.3 8.9mm. This curved body, the company claims, not only improves grip, but also makes it 20 percent more durable than a flat smartphone. As for the materials used, LG has opted for a polycarbonate body, and a distinctive leather back panel. As far as specifications are concerned, it flaunts a 5.5-inch QHD (2560 1440 pixels) IPS Quantum display with a pixel density of 534ppi. LG says the Quantum display is 25 percent brighter, and offers 50 percent higher contrast than its predecessor. The screen is also protected by Gorilla Glass 4, which makes it scratch and shatterproof.

Under the hood is a Snapdragon 808 hexa-core chipset clocked at 1.8GHz and paired with Adreno 418 GPU and 3GB of RAM. On the storage front, there is 32GB on board memory, which can be expanded up to a whopping 2TB using a microSD card. Additionally, buyers will also get 100GB free storage on Google Drive for a period of two years.

In the photography department, there is a 16-megapixel camera at the back with laser autofocus, optical image stabilization, f /1.8 aperture and dual-tone dual LED flash. The camera is capable of recording 4K videos, and short panoramas up to 104-megapixels. For selfie lovers, there is an 8-megapxiel front-facing camera.

Unlike many of the flagships these days, the LG G4 features a 3,000mAh removable battery with fast charging and wireless charging capabilities. The company claims the battery is good enough to last more than a day on a single charge, and users will be able to charge up to 60 percent in just about 30 minutes. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, LTE Cat 6 support, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS, NFC, and IR blaster.

On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop wrapped under LG UX 4.0. The new UI comes with proprietary features like KnockCode, and Knock On, as well as features like Smart Alert, Smart Board, and camera-centric apps like Quick Shot and Expert Camera mode among others.
