According to a Weibo post, the LG G5 could be unveiled as early as February. The leak also hints at the possible improvements LG s next flagship smartphone will be coming with. Unlike the leather back seen on this year s LG G4, the LG G5 will instead boast a full-metal body similar to the one we saw in the recently launched LG Zero. LG G5 specifications and features: The forthcoming smartphone is expected to flaunt a 5.6-inch display with QHD (2560×1440 pixels) resolution, and will be powered by Qualcomm s newest Snapdragon 820 chipset. In the photography department, the smartphone is expected to feature a 21-megapixel rear camera with 1/2-inch sensor, and an 8-megapixel selfie up front.
Another improvement that is expected on the LG G5 is biometric security, which is something the LG G4 missed out on. In what seems like the company making amends, LG is rumored to be including a fingerprint scanner as well as an iris scanner on the LG G5. The iris scanner was something we saw recently on Microsoft s Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL.
The LG G4 launched in India back in June in a dual-SIM avatar. The smartphone features a 5.5-inch QHD display, Snapdragon 808 hexa-core chipset, 3GB of RAM, 32GB on board memory, along with a microSD card slot.
It also features a 16-megapixel camera with laser autofocus, 8-megapxiel selfie camera, 3,000mAh battery, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support and IR blaster. On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
