LG is all set to launch its upcoming flagship, the G5 at MWC 2016 on February 21. In the run-up to the event, LG has already teased that the smartphone will sport an always on display similar to the second screen on LG s V10. Now, ahead of launch, the prototype of the smartphone was also put through paces on Geekbench, revealing its key specifications and features. The G5 is powered by Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4GB of RAM and runs on Google s latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. According to the benchmark, the smartphone carries a model number LG F700S, where S is likely to be the version specific to South Korea s carrier SK Telecom. If we look at the G4, it carries a model number F500, whereas the recently launched V10 carries a model number F600. By that logic, F700 could strongly imply that we re looking at G5. LG G5 specifications and features: Based on the rumors, the G5 could flaunt a 5.6-inch QHD (2560 1440 pixels) display. On the battery front, it could be equipped with a 2,800mAh battery. One of the earlier reports also pointed that the G5 could come with a unique modular design to solve biggest problems of flagship smartphones.
On the photography front, the smartphone could boast a dual-camera setup with laser auto-focus and dual-LED flash. For selfie lovers, an 8-megapixel front-facing camera is also expected. With a lot of current smartphones coming equipped with fingerprint scanners, the G5 could also boast one at the back. In terms of software, it will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow wrapped under LG s custom UI.
