Adding to the series of rumors surrounding LG s upcoming LG G6 smartphone, fresh 3D renders suggest that the smartphone will not take forth the modular design as seen on its predecessor. Serial leakster, @OnLeaks, has created a new video based on the factory CAD images. The purported smartphone appears to have quite an aesthetically pleasing design language. Based on the video, the LG G6 will feature a unibody design with a rear fingerprint sensor and dual-camera module. In the video, the LG G6 is shown off in matte black and glossy black finishes, similar to the Black and Jet Black color options of the Apple iPhone 7. Previous reports suggested that the LG G6 will feature a design similar to the LG G5. It is expected that the LG G6 would feature a water-resistant chassis combining metal and glass. It is speculated that the upcoming smartphone will feature a 5.3-inch quad HD display. Given its launch in the coming year, the flagship smartphone is expected to run the newest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor coupled with 6GB of RAM.
In photography department, the LG G6 will continue with the dual camera module as the LG G5. While the predecessor offered a 16/8 -megapixel combination, details are scarce about the camera capabilities of the successor. However, rumors hint at an iPhone 7 Plus-like dual-camera module with flash for more depth-of-field that creates bokeh effect in images. Based on the fresh video, the LG G6 will not feature a removable battery, and come with support for USB Type-C. With Snapdragon 835 at its heart, the smartphone will evidently come with Quick Charge 4.0 that is claimed to provide power for five hours with five minutes of charging. Some reports also hint at support for wireless charging. As of now, there are no details about the battery capacity of the LG G6. Having a USB Type-C port doesn t mean the LG G6 will introduce Type-C based audio output. As shown in the video, the LG G6 will continue featuring the standard 3.5mm headphone jack which will be placed on the top right.
Although there are no official details about the LG G6 s commercial launch, it is expected that it will hit the stores soon after its debut at the MWC event and will thus be available one month prior to the launch of another flagship the Samsung Galaxy S8.
