LG has confirmed the launch of its flagship device, the G6, in India, and it will take place on April 24. LG has sent out media invites for the launch event, which is scheduled to take place in New Delhi at 11.30 AM. LG had already put up the G6 on its India website, and the pre-registrations for the smartphone began on April 18. It is speculated that LG will begin pre-orders for the G6 from April 21, and the smartphone could cost somewhere between Rs 53,000 and Rs 54,000. Also Read - iPhone selling in LG stores? Prior to confirming the official launch date, it was suggested that the company would indeed unveil the LG G6 before the end of April. Mobile retailer Mahesh Telecom had also spilled some details regarding the G6, which include the date for pre-orders. He further said that the pre-orders would continue till April 30. In addition to this, there would be some introductory offers on the purchase of the G6 which includes 50 percent discount on Tone Active+ HBS A100 wireless earphones, Rs 2,000 cashback on pre-orders and up to Rs 5,000 cashback for HSBC and SBI card holders.
Successor to the G5, LG had launched its flagship, G6 at MWC 2017 earlier this year. The LG G6 is available in three colors of Mystic White, Astro Black and Ice Platinum, and is currently priced at $650 (Rs 42,000 approximately) in the US. LG made major changes with the G6 starting from new design with thin bezels, dual-camera setup, water and dust resistance, and also its Full Vision display. LG has also ditched the modular functionality for the G6, which turned out to be a major flop for the G5. In terms of specifications, the LG G6 features a 5.7-inch QHD display with 18:9 aspect ratio and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. At the core of the smartphone is Qualcomm s Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor. In the photography department, the LG G6 sports a pair of 13-megapixel cameras where one is a wide-angle lens of aperture f/2.4 and the other is a standard lens of aperture f/1.8 with support for optical image stabilization (OIS). Up front, the smartphone houses a 5-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture. The LG G6 is powered by a 3,300mAh battery along with Quick Charge 3.0 technology for fast charging. The connectivity options available on the smartphone include dual-SIM support, 4G LTE with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and USB Type-C port. On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box.
