If recent reports are to be believed, LG is planning to go the Samsung way and introduce something similar to the dedicated Bixby button on the Galaxy S flagship smartphones. According to CNET, LG’s next flagship smartphone is set to feature a dedicated Google Assistant button. The button will provide ready access to the AI Assistant for users. If rumors are to believed, LG took Samsung’s idea quite literally, and like the Bixby button, this dedicated button too is unlikely to be re-mapable.
This comes amidst a host of other leaks on the phone, while LG is all set to launch the phone on May 3. LG’s decision to include a dedicated Google Assistant button on its next flagship phone G7 ThinQ just shows how seriously the company is taking its partnership with Google. And these are not the first devices this year from LG to feature the Google Assistant. LG’s lineup of OLED and Super UHD televisions that was introduced this year also feature Google Assistant.
LG’s refreshed V30 smartphone that was launched at MWC 2018 at Barcelona also got some enhanced AI functions, and 32 exclusive Google Assistant commands. The report further claims that Google Assistant on LG G7 ThinQ is also set to feature exclusive commands that will only be available with this LG phone.
