Leaked renders and hands-on photos
Based on the leaked photos that we have come across (via SlashLeaks), we can see that the smartphone features a Full View display on the front. The display also has a notch on the top, which houses the earpiece, front camera and proximity sensor. Rumors have hinted that the smartphone will feature a 6.01-inch OLED screen, and users will also get an option to hide the notch.
Featuring a metal frame, the smartphone features a glass back, as we can see in the hands-on photos and leaked renders. The top half houses vertically placed dual camera modules with LED flash and IR sensor for laser auto-focus. A circular fingerprint sensor can also be seen just below the dual camera modules.
The renders also show off the top where SIM card and microSD card slot is placed, the bottom where you have a 3.5mm headphone jack and USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. On the left, you have the volume buttons and a dedicated button to invoke the Google Assistant. Now, unlike other LG smartphones where the power / sleep button was embedded with the fingerprint sensor at the back, this time around, the button is on the right.

Chipset, RAM and storage
Being a flagship smartphone, it will be powered by the latest and fastest chipset from Qualcomm the Snapdragon 845 octa-core SoC built on 10nm process. It will be coupled with 6GB of RAM with 64GB storage, and leaks also hint at 128GB and 256GB storage variants.
Cameras and software
LG flagship smartphones for the past two years have featured dual cameras at the back, and the same will continue with the G7 ThinQ. Recently, camera samples shot from the smartphone surfaced online hinting at a 16-megapixel primary sensor of aperture f/1.6. The other sensor is also expected to be of 16-megapixel resolution, but there is no word on the aperture or the type of lens it will use wide-angle or telephoto.
However, LG has always opted for a secondary wide-angle lens, and the same could be expected with the G7 ThinQ. Up front, an 8-megapixel sensor is expected for selfies and video calling. Running Android Oreo out-of-the-box, it is also expected to feature AI chops in the camera app for scene detection, and automatically applying the best settings to click photos.
LG has focused on audio chops and is known for including quad-DACs in its previous smartphones, and the same is expected with the latest flagship. It will include something called Boombox Speaker, which can increase the sound volume by over 6dB, and produce 2X bass. LG has also developed a way to use extra space inside the resonance chamber to amplify the output, PhoneArena reports.
The smartphone will also include DTS:X 3D Surround Sound to create an immersive, 3D surround sound-style audio when listening to music or watching movies using headphones. And yes, the Hi-Fi Quad DAC will also be present in the G7 ThinQ.
Details about the availability and pricing are scarce at the moment, nor there is any word on when the smartphone will be launched in India. But with the launch event happening today, we will get to know about more details in a few hours.
