LG has launched its K10 (2017) smartphone in India today. Priced at Rs 13,990, the K10 2017 will go on sale via major online retail stores starting February 26. As an introductory launch offer, LG is also providing unlimited movie and video downloads on Hungama for free for 45 days. The smartphone will be available in black, gold and titanium color variants. One of the main highlights of the K10 (2017) is that it comes with a SOS feature for emergency situations. Users can activate the SOS feature by pressing the clickable fingerprint scanner on the back three times. Upon activating the feature, users will be directed to the single emergency number ’112′, which was supposed to be operational starting January 1. The service is proposed to be universal number for various emergency services that would be similar to the ’911′ all-in-one emergency service used in the US. LG has become one of the first brands to implement this feature in their phone. Just like all other K-series phone, the K10 (2017) will also be manufactured in India. The K10 (2017) also brings additional support to nine Indian regional languages. Talking about the design, LG has launched the smartphone with a curved elemental design, smooth edges and a 2.5D Arc glass on top. It has a round fingerprint scanner on the back that not just unlocks the phone but also helps users capture images and take screenshots.

The LG K10 (2017) is the most premium smartphone in the upgraded K-series. It features a 5.3-inch HD display with a 2.5D glass on top. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor with 2GB of RAM. Also on offer will be 16GB and 32GB of internal storage with options to expand further up to 2TB via microSD card.
For photography, it comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera with 5-megapixel front snapper. It is fuelled by a 2,800mAh battery. Connectivity options include LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, microUSB 2.0 and NFC. On the software front, the smartphone will runs the newer Android 7.0 Nougat.
Going by the specifications on paper, the LG K10 (2017) is set to face tough competition with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 and Moto G4 Plus.
The Redmi Note 4, priced at Rs 12,999, comes with a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) display covered under 2.5D curved glass. It comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, 2GB/3GB/4GB RAM options, and 32GB/64GB storage options. The smartphone also features a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF support, 5-megapixel selfie camera, fingerprint sensor, and a 4,100mAh battery. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots (hybrid setup), 4G with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi, USB and Bluetooth, and on the software front, it runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow-based on MIUI 8.
On the other hand, the Moto G4 Plus is available in two variants — 16GB variant for Rs 13,499, and 32GB variant for Rs 14,499. It features a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) display, Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor, 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel selfie camera, and a 3,000mAh battery. The Moto G4 Plus comes with the option to expand internal storage up to 128GB using a microSD card. It also comes with 16-megapixel rear camera with an OmniVision sensor, laser auto-focus, and Phase Detection Auto-focus support. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.
