Google today unveiled the two new LG Nexus 5X and the Huawei Nexus 6P at its event in San Francisco. In India, the LG Nexus 5X is priced at Rs 31,900 for the 16GB variant, while the prices for the Huawei Nexus 6P start from Rs 39,999 onwards for 32GB. Google today mentioned that its new Nexus smartphones will be up for pre-orders starting tonight, and will go on sale in the US, UK, Ireland and Japan sometime next month. Among the two, LG Nexus 5X could launch in India as early as October 19. LG, in a press release, stated that its Nexus smartphone will go on sale in 40 additional countries in the fourth quarter, starting from October 19. While the company doesn’t categorically mention India, we expect it to be among the first in line to get the new Nexus smartphone. As for availability, Google said that its Nexus smartphones will be available exclusively via the Google Play Store in the US, and via other retailers in the rest of the markets. Last week, LG’s Nexus 5X was accidentally listed on Amazon India, which means it is among Google’s retailers for India. LG Nexus 5X price, specifications and features: As mentioned above, a Google Play Store listing revealed that the Nexus 5X will be priced at Rs 31,900. This is for the 16GB variant, while the price for the 32GB variant is yet unknown. It will be available in carbon, quartz and ice color variants.
The Nexus 5X flaunts a 5.2-inch full HD IPS display and is powered by a 1.8 GHz Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor paired with 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM. In the photography department, it features a 12.3-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, and “very large” 1.55 micro pixels. It also features dual-LED flash, laser autofocus and 4K video recording capabilities. Up front, there is a 5-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture.
It also includes a 2,700mAh battery, and connectivity options like 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 a, b, g, n, ac, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, and USB Type-C port. It also features Nexus Imprint fingerprint sensor at the back. On the software front, it runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box.
