LG has announced a new smartphone under its Stylus series, called the Stylus 2 Plus. The new smartphone will be initially available in Taiwan and will be rolled out in Asia, South America, North America and Europe regions over the coming weeks. The highlight of the Stylus 2 Plus is its ‘nano-coated stylus’, which the company claims to give “tactile feedback of a quality fountain pen when writing on the screen.” The smartphone is available in three color options – titan, gold and brown. The smartphone has the same 5.7-inch display as the Stylus 2 but resolution has gone up to full HD from HD. It is powered by an 1.4GHz octa-core processor along with 2GB of RAM. The Stylus 2 comes with 1.2GHz octa-core processor paired with 1.5GB of RAM. There is also a 3GB variant of the Stylus 2 Plus along with 32GB of internal storage. A microSD card slot for further expansion is also present. Variants may vary according to the market.
The camera has also been upgraded to 16-megapixel rear and 8-megapixel front camera. There will also be a 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel variant for select markets. The Stylus 2 Plus has a 3,000mAh battery and includes connectivity options like LTE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. The phablet also has a fingerprint sensor embedded at the back. On the software front the Stylus 2 Plus runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
