LG Q8 with 5.2-inch QHD display, dual rear camera setup launched, priced at Rs 44,800 approximately

LG Q8 is the mini verison of the LG V20 smartphone.


After launching LG Q6, Q6+ Q6a in the Q-series earlier this month, LG has now quietly launched LG Q8 smartphone. The LG Q8 will be available for 599 (Rs 44,800 approximately) later this month in Europe. However, there is no official word on whether the smartphone will arrive in other markets as well. The smartphone looks very similar to LG V20. The smartphone retains the secondary display and dual rear camera, however, it comes with a smaller 5.2 inch QHD display with a Quantum IPS panel. The display is said to offers brightness of 500 nits along with a Gorilla Glass 4 protection on top. The secondary display is placed on the top side, next to the selfie camera, with a resolution of 160 x 1,040 pixels, especially made for notifications. At the rear, there is a round fingerprint scanner placed right below the camera modules.

In terms of design, the LG Q8 comes with a metal body and IP68 rating for waterproofing. The certificate is said to withstand being submerged in water for up to 1.5 meters for half an hour. The phone further comes with the Snapdragon 820 processor by Qualcomm, unlike the LG V20 which is powered by Snapdragon 821 chipset. The SoC is paired with 4GB of RAM along with 32GB of internal storage. There is also a option to extend the memory further via a microSD slot. On the software front, the smartphone will runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box. Keeping the smartphone ticking is a 3,000mAh non-removable battery. As mentioned above, the smartphone retains the secondary camera of the LG V20 device. On the camera front, the smartphone comes with dual cameras (13-megapixel + 8-megapixel sensor) at the rear, while on the front, the device features a 5-megapixel front camera . The back camera is capable of 4K 2160p video, while the front camera comes with a wide lens which comes with the ability to record 1080p video.
