LG V20 starts receiving Android 8.0 Oreo OTA update

LG V20 models F800L, F800K and F800S in South Korea are said to be receiving the update first.

LG has finally started pushing the Android 8.0 Oreo OTA update for the LG V20 smartphones. The V20 with model number F800L, F800K and F800S in South Korea are reported to be the first to receive the update. But If you own a LG V20 (F800L/K/S) and live in another country, you can upgrade these models through LG Bridge.

The Android 8.0 Oreo OTA update for LG V20 is over 1.66GB in size, and carries build number V20c-JUL-06-2018. Apart from software upgrade from Android Nougat to Oreo, there are quite a few features that LG has worked upon. Each app’s notifications can now be managed all in one place.

The update brings support for Sony‘s LDAC codec for Bluetooth headsets. Other changes include, improvement in the blue light filter in Comfort view, which can now be manually adjusted. The device also gets battery and performance optimizations by limiting background apps.

Earlier today, Huawei also pushed Android 8.0 Oreo-based firmware updates for the Huawei Mate 10 Pro and Huawei P9 smartphones. It includes latest July 2018 Android security patch from Google for both smartphones, while the Mate 10 Pro also gets improved connection stability while using HiSuite to connect your phone to computer. The update is said to be rolling out over-the-air (OTA) for both devices.
