LG has already rolled out the invites for the V30 smartphone which is set to be unveiled on August 31 in Berlin. However, much before the launch, we have already come across a host of leaks and rumors surrounding the smartphone. While many renders have suggested what the smartphone is expected to look like, just a couple of days before the actual unveiling, a live image has surfaced. It shows off the smartphone up close and while it does confirm some rumors, it also highlights some surprising changes to the smartphone from what the leaks have suggested. The leaked image, first shared on Weibo, shows the bottom of the smartphone with USB-C port for charging and data transfer. The speakers are also on the bottom of the phone. There is no physical home button on the display. Interestingly, contrary to popular belief, the smartphone will not come with a bezel-less display if the image is anything to go by. The side bezels are slimmer but they are definitely present. There are also the standard top and bottom bezels. The phone display is covered with a 2.5D Gorilla Glass display with the edges made of metal. The secondary display is missing. It was believed that LG has replaced the secondary display with a larger bezel-free screen but the live image suggests otherwise. The smartphone is expected to come in the 18:9 aspect ratio display, a standard for LG flagships. While some of the features have already been revealed by LG through social media channels or videos, the display remains a mystery. LG might go for a bezel less display in the larger LG V30 Plus, though nothing is confirmed as of now. LG has already confirmed that the smartphone will sport a 6-inch FullVision QHD OLED display. The latest video by LG reveals that the LG V30 will come with quad DACs for improved sound. In terms of camera, the smartphone will come with a dual rear camera module. The exact specifications of the front and the rear camera are unknown though LG is expected to bundle in a host of features and tweaks for photography enthusiasts. The camera resolution will most likely be 16-megapixel for the main camera and 12-megapixel for the secondary cam. The camera will also come with f/1.6 aperture for wide angle shots and more light for low-light photography. The smartphone is also expected to come with 3,200mAh battery and run Android Nougat OS out-of-the-box. The phone will be powered by Snapdragon 835 chipset.
The leaks are only tentative and though LG has slowly been revealing details around the device, the final display specifications and features are most likely to be revealed only post the launch on August 31. With just a couple of days to go, it seems wise to wait it out and view the device when it is finally unveiled in Berlin right before IFA 2017 kicks off.
