LG has announced the new Android Wear smartwatch called Watch Urbane 2. A successor to LG Watch Urbane, it is the first Android Wear smartwatch to feature 4G LTE connectivity. Unlike the Watch Urbane that came with just one side button, the new smartwatch now has three buttons. These buttons provide quick access to shortcut settings such as app list, LG Health and contacts. The smartwatch includes 16 watch faces, with more that can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. Fitness-related features such as workout tips, stress level monitoring and heart rate monitor are also present on the smartphone. LG Watch Urbane 2 specifications and features: It flaunts a 1.38-inch circular display with a resolution of 480×480 pixels, translating into a pixel density of 348ppi. The smartwatch is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 SoC clocked at 1.2GHz and paired with 768MB of RAM. Also on the offer is 4GB of onboard storage for storing data and apps.
In terms of connectivity, the LG Watch Urbane 2 supports 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1. It is also equipped with sensors such as heart rate, accelerometer, compass, gyroscope, GPS and barometer. There is also a 570mAh battery with Power Saving mode, which LG claims to offer backup of over a day. With IP67 certification for water and dust resistance, the smartwatch will be available in space black, opal blue, luxe white and signature brown color options.
The smartwatch will initially be released in the US and Korea, with other markets such as Europe, Asia and Middle East to follow soon. However, there is no word on the availability and pricing as yet.
